That bad stretch of road just got worse for the Gillette College men's basketball team.

The Pronghorns extended their skid with their fourth straight Region IX loss on Saturday night, losing 81-67 to Sheridan College in the Golden Dome.

Gillette shot just 35 percent from the floor in the Golden Dome. Kalen Foreman, a 6-foot-9 sophomore from Southfield, Mich., and George Edwards finished with 10 points apiece. James Hunter also added nine points and eight rebounds.

At one point in the game, the tallest player the Gillette College women on the floor was 5-foot-9 Kim Caywood.
The freshman, who played at Tongue River High School, came up large with 10 points and 11 rebounds and the Pronghorns beat Northwest College from Powell 78-68 for the first time in program history Wednesday night at CCHS South Campus.

Gillette College, which went into the game tied for first in the Northern Conference, lost its second consecutive Region IX game. But this one sticks in the craw because it was a matter of executing something they do in the gym every night.

They come from the same continent, but grew up worlds apart.
Now James Hunter and Reece Maxwell - Gillette College's Down Under connection - are halfway around the world, helping the Pronghorns rise to the top in Region IX men's basketball.
Hunter, a 6-foot-10 freshman, grew up on a farm in the South Coast region of New South Wales, Australia, near a town called Nowra, which is about 80 miles from Sydney. He went to boarding school at prestigious Cranbrook School in Sydney and played basketball most of his life, although he did try a little rugby.

Gillette College tripped over the first hurdle in a critical stand of regional games, falling 82-72 to Central Wyoming College on Wednesday in Riverton for their first Region IX loss of the season.
The Rustlers (13-4, 3-3 in Region IX) jumped the Pronghorns early with a 45-point first half scoring effort. Braden Wright came off the bench and to lead all scorers with 20 points in 18 minutes.

Gillette College men's basketball team won 123-79 Saturday night at Little Big Horn College. The win makes Gillette College 4-0 in Region IX North Division play and alone in first place. All nine Pronhorns scored including six in double digits. The men were led by Kashaune McKinney who scored 29 points and made four three pointers, George Edwards with 22, James Hunter with 16, Lucas Reller with 14, Kalen Foreman with 12, and Asante Smiter with 11. The Pronghorn men shot 62% (49-79) from the field, 56% (9-16) from the three point line, and 73% (16-22) from the free throw line in the winning effort.

Shawn Neary looked like a guy that couldn't remember the numbers to his gym locker in Wednesday night's 80-66 Region IX victory over No. 11 Western Wyoming Community College.
The Gillette College men's basketball coach just kept throwing combination after combination at it until it finally popped open.
James Hunter had five offensive rebounds in the final 10 minutes to finish with a double-double for the Pronghorns. George Edwards had a double-double for the second straight Region IX game, finishing with 17 points and 12 rebounds, and Gillette College (12-4, 3-0 in Region IX) handed the Mustangs (14-2, 3-1 in Region IX) just their second loss of the season and first loss in the region.

Gillette College freshman George Edwards did everything but take tickets at the door in the Pronghorns' 94-90 victory over Miles Community College in the Region IX home opener Saturday at CCHS South Campus.

Edwards, a 6-foot-5 power forward from Chicago, scored 17 of his game-high 29 points in the second half. He hauled in 17 rebounds, 10 on the defensive glass. And if that wasn't enough, he brought the ball up the floor with the Pronghorns (11-4, 2-0 in Region IX) clinging to a three-point lead and knocked down a free throw with seven seconds left to seal the deal.
