Gillette College Rodeo Welcomes Kally Sorenson to 2026 Women’s Team

The Gillette College Rodeo program is excited to announce the signing of Kally Sorenson, a standout all-around cowgirl from Watford City, North Dakota. Sorenson will join the Pronghorns in the fall of 2026, rounding out what is shaping up to be an exceptional recruiting class for the women's team.

Kally brings an impressive resume, competing in multiple events, including barrel racing, breakaway roping, and team roping. A three-time North Dakota High School Rodeo Association All-Around Champion, she has also earned multiple state titles, including a state championship in breakaway roping and team roping. She is a two-time NDHSRA Barrel Racing Champion and a two-time Reserve Breakaway Champion, showcasing both consistency and versatility.

Her success extends beyond the state level. Sorenson has made her mark nationally, placing 5th and 7th at the National High School Finals Rodeo in barrel racing and capturing wins in both the breakaway and team roping jackpots at NHSRA events. She is also a two-time North Dakota Rodeo Association All-Around Champion and has continued to build momentum with recent highlights including an All-Around, Barrel Racing, and Breakaway Roping sweep at the Badlands Challenge, as well as a round win at the 2025 Kimes Million Dollar Qualifier in Oklahoma.

"Kally is a phenomenal roper and a huge piece to this recruiting class," said Head Coach Casey Sellers. "Having coached her brother Tel, we know the standard she's been raised in, but she's absolutely next level in her own right. She brings balance and depth to this upcoming group, and we're really excited to have her on board."

Sorenson credits her family for getting her started in rodeo and is looking forward to the next chapter.

"I chose Gillette because of their great practice facility and awesome coaches," said Sorenson. "I'm excited to rodeo in the Central Rocky Mountain Region."

With Sorenson joining the roster, the Gillette College women's rodeo team has an incredibly bright future for the 2026-2027 rodeo season, beginning in the fall.
