Pronghorns Welcome Experienced Guard Demi Thompson Lopez
Gillette, WY — June 2026 — The Gillette College women's basketball program is pleased to announce the addition of Demi Thompson Lopez, a 5'8" guard from Meridian, Idaho, who joins the Pronghorns from California State University Monterey Bay.
Thompson Lopez arrives with a proven track record of success at the high school level across two states. During her high school career, she competed in both Idaho and Nevada's highest classifications, earning All-Conference recognition three times, including First Team All-Conference honors in Nevada's 5A classification in 2024. She also helped lead her team to the 2021 Idaho 5A State Championship.
A consistent scorer throughout her career, Demi averaged 16 points per game during both her sophomore and junior seasons in Idaho before finishing her senior year in Nevada, averaging 12 points per contest. Her ability to create offense and compete against high-level competition has made her a standout wherever she has played. Known for her toughness, communication, and defensive mindset, she brings valuable experience and leadership to the Pronghorn program.
Away from the court, Thompson Lopez has excelled in the classroom. She graduated with a 3.58 cumulative high school GPA, earned Academic Honor Roll recognition throughout her academic career, and currently holds a 3.5 GPA at California State University, Monterey Bay. She plans to pursue General Studies at Gillette College.
